The new NBA season is just weeks away and now we know who ESPN thinks will dominate in the year ahead.

For the last few days, the major network has been revealing its predictions for the 2022-23 season.

They have been ranking the players and predicting where they will stand in the league when the playoffs start.

After much teasing and anticipation, ESPN released its final five.

There are some very well-known names at the top of ESPN’s list.

Coming in at number five is Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, last season’s Finals MVP and the oldest guy in this top five.

At number four sits Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers, who is looking to finally lead his team to the Finals.

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks took the third spot on the list after his impressive postseason showing.

Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is number two.

Finally, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks takes the top spot.

ESPN thinks these will be the best players in the league and it’s hard to argue with that.

NBA MVPs

It wouldn’t be surprising to see any of these men in the NBA Finals and with the MVP trophy at the end of the season.

There are quite a few people who feel that Antetokounmpo will be on a tear in the new season and could power through the competition and return to the Finals.

Others feel that Doncic is about to have a breakout season unlike any other while countless others think Jokic will finally reach the Finals with a fully-healthy team.

As for Embiid and Curry, they are both trying to prove a lot: Curry wants back-to-back Finals wins without Kevin Durant and Embiid wants to finally reward his fans with a ring.

Each of these guys will be fighting hard in the months ahead.
